“I am Powerful” Award for Bosnian Activist

This past summer CARE NW Balkans participated in the annual CARE USA National conference held in Washington DC .  This event brings CARE supporters across the USA for advocacy and lobbying of US Congress around the theme of fighting global poverty.  We were especially happy this year, as one of CARE’s local partners, Stonajka Tesic, executive director of Forum of Women in Bratunac was the second recipient of CARE’s I AM POWERFUL award, given to individuals who demonstrate dedication to empowering and improving the lives of women.  Stnajoka Tesic received the award from CARE Ambassador and actress Sarah Michelle Gellar.  In the photo Mrs. Tesic is standing with Sarah Michelle Gellar and
CARE USA President Dr
. Helene Gayle.
