Gender Equality and Women Empowerment
 
This program sector recently started a new program on combating human trafficking supported by the OAK Foundation.  The gender sector is developing a publication that will analyze CARE’s past work in this field.
 
Civil Society / Minority Rights

CARE continues to work with it Roma partners in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina on community development and youth mobilization issues.  A new project in eastern B&H funded by the European Union  has just started around the themes of youth participation and peacebuilding.
 
Economic Development and Tourism


The Sustainable Economic Development project and Drina Valley Tourism Development project, funded by the Embassy of the kingdom of Nederland, were finished at the end of December 2008. Both projects have achieved significant results, primarily in the areas of job creation and cross border co-operation between the municipalities in BiH and Serbia
