Project Description
This project relates with successful implementation of the Serbia Counter Trafficking Community Mobilization Project 1 in the period June 06 – May 07. The main goal of this project is to increase the capacity of Serbian NGOs to respond to human trafficking, in partnership with government and other civil society organisations. Project objectives are: 1) to strengthen 6 Serbian NGOs ability to advocate and respond to trafficking issues, as a national resource centres, through increased support to key anti-trafficking activities; 2) to promote networking through an introduction of the coaching element between key national NGOs and small grassroots organizations as a way of their cooperation in dealing with human trafficking; 3) to strengthen local authorities response to trafficking through increased cooperation with local NGOs; 4) to increase the capacities and awareness of Roma young people to address trafficking issues through education. The project consists of several components. The first component is capacity building and technical assistance to Project Partner organizations to be used for developing internal capacities of the organizations. The second component are grants for Project Partners to be used for various anti-trafficking activities (direct assistance services to victims of trafficking, educational workshops for young people / potential victims of trafficking, raising awareness campaigns etc.). The third component is support to networking and cooperation on national and regional level as an environment for new ideas and opportunities to be developed by all organizations on addressing some of the causes of trafficking.
